| Good advice - we have seen doctors and they couldn''t help. I think we will try the posey mitts as his skin is becoming really damaged. Thanks for the discussion. | ||

| My 78 year old husband scratches his, arms, legs, head back of neck and stomach. I could not find the sleeves in our area so I purchased several pair of Dr. Scholl''s sock for diabetic and circulatory problems. I then cut out the toe area and made a place for his thumb. This does stop greater irritation. At night after we have applied Gold Bond to all the areas I put on a clean pair of "sleeves" and this helps cut down on the bleeding during the night and allows some of the areas to heal. This ,however, does not help the legs and stomach areas during the summer because he will not wear long pants. When I can keep a tee shirt on him this helps the stomach area.He will not keep the mitts on.I simply try to keep the raw areas from becoming infected. We use a lot of Gold Bond, | ||

| My mother-in-laws face was scratched so bad that the neighbors were asking her aids what happened suggesting they did something wrong. We used fabric 1st aide tape on her wrists after putting the cotton gloves on. It kept the gloves on and gave her face time to heal past the itchy part. We used triple antibiotic ointment on the bloody patches and within a week she got much better. We instructed the aids to remove them for bathing and eating otherwise they stayed on. If it gets bad again we will repeat. | ||

| I have been using Rubbing Alcohol or Purrell (the green one with Aloe and moisturizers) to calm and cool the affected/itchy area (which seems to wander around a little!) - also try a cool facecloth and a big long hug to keep scratching fingers occupied until the itching calms down. | ||

| I''d bet the hugs help with a lot more than just the itching. | ||
