| I had burning tonque syndrome. I went to the doctor and found out I was extremely enemic. So I had a take triple doses of iron and other vitamins for my anemia. I feel much better now and I my burning tonque issues went away. I believe mine was caused from being severly anemic with other side effects too. | ||

| I have experienced burning tongue symptoms for about 15 - 20 years. ( I am in my 50''s now). It was always associated with using laundry detergents, soaps, skin creams, and foundation makeup. Within 3 seconds of touching the product with my hand, my tongue would burn and continue burning for hours; leaving me to suppose that somehow my hand brought the product to my tongue. I suspect that even the smell of the laundry detergent caused the burning too, as I became quite careful about contact with it. My family doctors guessed that it was probably from perfumes, but when I wore perfume I did not get the same result, and when I tried commercial products that said ''No perfume or dyes'' or ''for sensitive skin'' it made absolutely no difference. I had to resort to plain sweet almond oil for a skin moisturizer, and started buying or making home-made soap. (hadn''t connected the dots yet). Happily, this last year, I have accidentally discovered the reason! I happened to try Arm and Hammer brand liquid laundry soap; and had NO BURNING SENSATION! When I read the fine print it said it was made without using petrochemicals; so I looked for more products (at a health food store) that were made without the petrochemicals and they are fine for me too. It turns out that most detergents, moisturizers, cosmetics, and many food products have petro-chemical ingredients! (I have heard that many are known carcinogens and hormone disruptors!). [Also probably the reason that ''bakers-whip'' (fake whipped cream) tastes like soap]. Please test to see if this is the cause for others. It had distinct and immediate results for me. Good luck! L |
